Danger

Sharks do not belong in the home, or anywhere, for that matter.  I hate those things.

New Stuff

May 21st, 2008

As you may have noticed, Todd (my talented webmaster) did some new stuff on the website.  I don’t really know what he did because it was all behind the scenes and magical.  It is supposed to run better now without multiple outages.  The comments may or may not still be buggy.  Hopefully I will get the links and such updated in the near future.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Free Advice

If you decide to rip off my sister for $300 several years ago, it is probably not a good idea to call my office and ask for a racing sponsorship.  I can assure you that chew-out will ensue.

As a side note, I don’t cave or respect crying no matter how much you can’t afford to contest the estate that I represent.  What do you expect me to do, just toss the will out and give you all the money even though it specifically says that you were to be cut out?  Sorry, but no chance.

Finally, don’t call my office saying that you are updating some stupid online yellow pages, then send me a bill for $34.99 per month for the website you made me.  I didn’t sign up for that, I will never pay for it, and if you do tack it on to my phone bill, I will definitely sue you.

I’m kind of punchy today and have already reamed people on my first two phone calls.  Who’s next?

www.passwird.com has notified me that one can receive a brand spankin’ new Swingline Optima stapler just for filling out a survey. It is not my favorite Swingline of all time, but it is probably a far cry better than any junk Bostitch that you may be currently using. Also, you can’t beat free - here’s the link.

Birth Day

January 4th, 2008

On December 31, 2007 at 2:37 pm  we were blessed with a brand new baby girl (read: tax deduction ‘07): Taylor Lynn Dalrymple.  She was 7 lbs 1 oz, 21 inches long, and has a full head of hair.   The experience was wonderful and horrifying all at the same time.  You can see more pictures at Deb’s Flickr at the bottom right of this page.

We went to the hospital on Sunday evening around 7:30.  We found out Deb’s water was broken, and contractions had not started.   The doctor went ahead and induced with Pitocin in order to get things started.  We were warned that it would be a tougher labor because of the Pitocin, and, while I don’t have any other with which to compare, I can assure you that it was tough.  Deb is an absolute rockstar as she did the whole thing without any pain medication, thanks to the help of our doula, Julie Sites.

I cannot give enough praise to the hospital staff at Virginia Baptist Hospital.  We had heard that they have a fantastic birthing center, and they lived up to every expectation.  Everyone there was top notch, including the nurse that kept some mumbling weirdo named Ted from visiting us, even though he insisted he knew us.  Creepy.  Also a little dangerous for him as I tend to be somewhat overprotective and always armed.

Anyway, the whole thing has been good despite the recent lack of sleep, and I would like to do it again a few times if Deb is up to it.  She told me today that it really wasn’t as tough as everyone says it is.  Whatever.  It looked tough to me.
